Mathura, August 22 (ANI): Thousands of devotees on Monday flocked Mathura to celebrate the festival of Janmashtami, which marks the birth of God Krishna. On the eve of the festival, devotees offered prayers at the famous Keshav temple in Mathura, which is also the birthplace of Krishna. While the priest performed the aarti to offer prayers to the revered Lord, devotees sung religious hymns with great fervour. The celebrations will intensify by midnight, as it is believed that Lord Krishna was born at that hour. Another way by which people show their devotion for the deity is by dressing their children in the form of Lord Krishna.
