Lawmakers appeal for peace in Dera Sikh row


Chandigarh, June 25, 2008 : Chief Ministers of Punjab and Harayana appealed to the people to maintain calm in the wake of Sikh protests. Sikhs are protesting against the alleged killing of a community member by the security guards of the Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, chief of a sikh sect, Dera Sacha Sauda in Mumbai. The state chiefs also promised to take strict action against anybody who goes against the law and order.
