Indian rose exports zoom ahead of Valentines Day


Pune, Feb 13, 2008 : With Valentines' Day just round the corner, Pune has become a bed of roses, literally. The city shares the status of being the country's largest floriculture cluster with IT city Bangalore. After being cut, the blooms are kept in cold storage under controlled temperature to preserve them, following which their leaves and thorns are removed with a machine before finally packing them off for export.
