Meet Taizeena Khan! Pioneering physiotherapist who runs her own clinic in the Valley
Srinagar (J&K), Mar 31 (ANI): When it was all about medical and engineering courses in Kashmir and parents here would like their children only to opt for one of the two, Taizeena Khan decided to go against the norms. Despite insistence from her parents to go for MBBS, she chose a course, which very few people knew in Kashmir and not many thought of its relevance here. But for Taizeena, Bachelor’s in Physiotherapy from Bangalore was a futuristic course, which has tremendous scope in Kashmir, as well as outside. And she was right. Now she has not only earned her name in the field but runs a successful physiotherapy and rehabilitation centre. After completing her bachelors, Taizeena did Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies (PGDMS) with specialization in hospital management from London. And then after a brief working period, went to USA and did MBA from Woodbury University, California. Talking about how she moved from London to Kashmir with an aim to provide facilities to her own brethren, Taizeena goes on to describe what all her clinic has to offer. Come lets hear out the patients and people visiting the clinic have to say about physiotherapy and Taizeena. At first Khan catered to only women and children, but soon she was embraced by requests from male members as well. Khan and her team also do home visits. Patients include those with knees and back problems, partial paralysis, stroke cases and so on. The clinic has had a deep impact on the health ecosystem in the region.
